Sarinda here and I am hosting. I love using text in my work it is a fun way to get texture without a whole lot of work. With that I have a background tutorial for you to try. Click over to my blog Aggregate Memories. Wishing you a very creative and inspiring day.

Great challenge Sarinda! My daughter is home for a couple of days recouperating and we are into watching The Hobbit movie.. with that in mind I've made my own front door!! Hope you like it...

My door started life as a plain white chipboard Gothic Arch from Tando Creative, you can find a list of stockists HERE.

It's covered in gorgeous paper which was a digi freebie from the gorgeous Mandy and over stamped with Jo Capper-Sandon's gorgeous Daisy stamp.

The little arch is also from Tando and covered with a gorgeous piece of French text.. the door handle is a little press stud.

A sprinkle of imagination ~ Reveal!

Better late than never.. not quite sure where this week has disappeared too.. is it just me this happens too?

I am delighted to be sharing a project with you that I made using a large Tim Holtz tag, some scrummy stamps & inks.. for A sprinkle of imagination.

here's a sneak peek!

For the base I used one of the large manilla No.8 {tags}

I squirted a generous blob of shaving foam onto my Ranger non stick {craft sheet}

and added a few blobs of Dr Ph. Martin's {Bombay Indian Inks} in Magenta & Teal

then set about swishing the tag through the foam..

To finish the background I added a few flicks of the Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, fine glitter paint to add some sparkle in {Paradise Pink}

The gorgeous flower stamp brand NEW from Stampotique Originals is called Dandelion Duo, it was stamped using Aged Mahogany {Distress Ink} pad and coloured with a Derwent Graphitint pencil in {Autumn Brown}, once dry I added blobs of {Glossy Accents} to each flower. I then stamped Jo Capper-Sandon's {Big Bee} stamp onto the background, coloured the body of each bee with Bombay Inks and added acetate wings.

The sentiment (Wildflower verse) is another new design along with {Mothloved} from {Stampotique Originals} Please note.. Vicki can order any Stampotique stamps simply drop her a line, if you can't see just what you are looking for..

I finished the tag by hand stitching around the outside edge and running the chevron {roller doodle} from Glitz Design down the right hand side using {Jet Black} Archival Ink.

Many thanks for calling today. You will find lots more inspiration from the Design Team over on the Creative Blog.

 Happy creating, Gez xoxo

Stampotique Designers Challenge #97 ~ 3 Trimmed Images

It's time for a brand NEW challenge today over at the Stampotique Designers challenge blog and today sees the fabulous France setting our new challenge, here is what she has to say..

‘Don’t you just love all the details on Stampotique stamps? The best way to realize just how detailed they are is… by trimming them! And that’s our challenge this week: I’d like you to use (at least) 3 trimmed stamped images!
Up to you to use 3 times the same image or 3 different ones, to use them on a tag, a card, an altered object,…  I hope you find this as relaxing as I do!

Ps: sometimes you need to cheat a bit to get all the details. You can for instance cut off some details when trimming and make them visible again by stamping directly on your piece and sticking the trimmed image on top of the stamped image.’

Fab, fab challenge France! Here's my mini canvas..

Loved making this, special thanks to a very special lady called Tracey for sending me this gorgeous little blank canvas ♥

I had soooo much fun!

I love all the different textures and colours..

Stamps used: My Heart, Spider Wings and Fly Word

Many thanks for calling today and taking a look at my creation. Pop on over to the challenge blog to see lots more inspiration from the FABULOUS Design Team.. hope you can play along, remember each weeks challenges are open until the end of each month (Remember to add the challenge number along with your name to qualify) and two lucky entries will each win a $30 gift certificate to spend in Store.

Hope you can join in the fun. Good Luck for the draw.. Happy creating, Gez oxox

Ten Minute Tuesdays ~ challenge

I know it's Thursday.. I did make this on Tuesday, honest! I blogged a sneak peek & a reveal on the Challenge blog, and thought I would share the reveal on my blog too!

I did it!!! Well, after the 3rd attempt!!!! I took up Vicki's challenge {Ten Minute Tuesdays}

  harder than what you think!!

here's my tag..

Love, love, love working with these colours! I started with one of Tim Holtz's small Kraft tags and added some Picket Fence Tim Holtz Distress Paint with a dry brush.

I stamped one of the new sentiments from Stampotique Originals called Enjoy Today by Maria Sabina Raita (her stamps her the best!) I stamped the sentiment with Jet Black Archival Ink Pad from Ranger.

The tag was matted & layered using black cardstock and an off-cut of the gorgeous new paper from the Glitz Design Color Me Happy collection Stripe.

To finish off I stamped Dandelion Duo a couple of times, another new stamp from Stampotique Originals. Vicki can order any of the stamps for you and is awaiting delivery of the new designs.

The dandelions were given a coating of Glossy Accents (as you can see, as the photo was taken while it was still wet!)

A great challenge Vicki, perfect for during the school hols!! Thank you for calling and leaving a comment if you get the chance. Gez oxox

Megan Suarez Whimsy Girls Workshop

It's very rare these days that I get any time for myself, I know things are starting to finally calm down.. still along wayy to go on finding somewhere to store tons of boxes.. it's just a good job my daughter can't get home for Easter as her room is being used as temp storage! (I've had the sad task of breaking up my parents home & selling the family home that holds so many dear memories to me & the children, it's been heartbreaking :-(

Admist, the chaos.. a spark of hope! a release from ALL the tension & heartache.. one very special artist & lady Megan Suarez opened her very first online class Whimsy Girls (& it's still open for registration!

I have long, long, long admired Megan's drawing & avidly follow her on Youtube.. when I lost my Mum I went through a phase (of about 2 yrs!) of not sleeping and throughout the night would tune into Megan's channel so imagine my delight when I heard the news of Megan's class... I'm still dancing on the ceiling!!

In true Gezzyb style I am still really too busy to think about art & myself but I have stolen little bits of time to have a play! (I have been sharing snippets on Instagram... urgh.. and a photo of my finger... I really shouldn't have done that! lolol!! ... apologies if you follow my channel!!

Please be gentle with your comments, this is my first attempt! I did wonder whether to share as it's a first attempt but at the speed that I'm getting through things for 'me' it might be Christmas otherwise!!!! ......... and.......... Megan has her 2nd class ALL lined up..... and... I'm ALL signed up! :-))

  *HAPPY dancing!*

Many thanks for calling, life is precious.... follow your heart ♥

Stampotique Designers Challenge SDC90 ~ Song Inspiration

I took some time out for myself yesterday & decide to make something for Sam's new challenge over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog!

I have often been inspired by songs to create something, it could be the song title, the message behind the song or just a line of the song that resonates with me. So I'm excited to be inviting you to create anything that makes you smile using a song for your inspiration. There is no right there is no wrong it's just the way you sing your song!

I couldn't resist joining in.. I've had an idea floating around in my head for a while.. I just needed some time out from the madness to have a play!

I've used the title to a song I often sing to my littlest best friend! It's a song by Alan Jackson.. Everything but the wings.. that sums my youngest up completely.... he is my guardian angel!

We love nothing better than singing together.. and quite often get told to shut up off DS1....... but we never take any notice!!!!

I grew up listening to country songs.. I guess my little lad will too..!

The background was painted with acrylic paints.... I wanted the words to stand out quite boldly and I think they do!!

I've used a gorgeous new fella from Stampotique Originals called Cousin Carmine .. I think he definately needs his own wings too! So I stamped plenty of different ones for him to choice from in the background!

I used.. Lovely WingsBat Like Wings and Spider Wings.. I also, used Ti amo (I love you) I just had too!! and some numbers from Hopscotch (something else we like playing together!

I love this page in my journal & Tom does too.. and that's all that matters!

Thank you for calling today & leaving a comment if you get the chance I hope you like my page too!

I hope you get chance to play along too.. you can see what some of the other DT members came up with HERE over on the challenge blog.

  Happy creating, Gez oxox

Canvas Atc's

I am very lucky to be apart of some AMAZING Dt's and for them all understanding the life's difficulties I am going through at the moment which is taking me away from my blog more than I would like.. the end is in sight!

I managed to squeeze in a little crafting time as my life appears to be in the hands of the solicitors atm and I am waiting to hear from them for the final push!

For sooooooo long....... I have wanted to try out the Sticky-Back Canvas Atc's by Claudine Hellmuth and I am excited to share my results with you! I wanted to throw lots of different products at these to see how they reacted.

I used the white sticky back canvas atc's and cut some plain white card for the reverse sides.. slightly smaller than the canvas.. stuck one to the other and set about fraying the edges!

I used Distress Ink pads on the first atc and applied them with a piece of Cut n Dry foam for the background. Adding some flicks from a bottle of Paradise Pink, Tattered Angels, Glimmer Glaze (it comes with it's own brush!)

The main image is a Resist Canvas Bird by Prima.. coloured with Distress Stains in Dusty Concord & Broken China.. gotta LOVE those colours together!

This little birdie is merrily singing soooo he just had to stand on a scrap of music paper!! The word is computer generated and I think you can just see on the photograph in the background some silver acrylic circles using the paint and the lid from a bottle of Ranger's metallic paint dabber. The gorgeous little gems are by Prima (505506) Say It In Crystals

Success! I love how this Atc turned out!

    ~♥♥~

The background for the 2nd Atc was created using Dylusions Ink Sprays straight from the bottle onto the canvas.. with more blobs of the Paradise Pink Glimmer Glaze.. and silver acrylic circles..

More music paper used for the flower, and gems along with another computer generated word.. I wanted all my Atc's to tie in together as a set.. same but different.. if you know what I mean!!

 ~♥♥~

I think I saved my favourite atc until the last to show you.. I had a mini brainwave amidst the chaos going on in my head! What if... I could decant some of my lovely Dr Ph Martin's Bombay Indian Inks into some of the little Mini Mister bottles with some water.... YES! It worked lovely for the background!!

Before I misted the background.. I stamped a text stamp using gel medium onto the canvas... and QUICKLY, cleaned the stamp!

I have to admit to being a little impatient waiting for the gel medium to dry & used the heat gun! Becareful, if you don't any bubbling, let it dry naturally!

Time for some spraying.. (and inky fingers)

More flicking with the Glimmer Glaze! Gems & stamped circles using Jet Black Archival Ink

The heart was cut from some plain white cardstock and covered with Washi Tape and mounted onto 3D foam pads.

PHEW! Hope you are all still awake!!!

Please pop on over to the Creative blog to see lots more inspiration.. Thanks for calling today. Gez oxox

Blopper!!

Did I really say I'd share my blooper with you!!!

Many, many thanks to everyone that's left comments on my Stampotique Blog Hop post (below). Hello & WELCOME to my brand new followers too, promise I'm not normally this dipsy!

GOOD LUCK for the draw!

They say there's a first time for everything! I was SO excited when I tried out a new technique.. I only went & stamped the sentiment on my card upside down... I was speechless..!!!!!!

(apologies for the bad photograph, it was taken late at night on my mobile phone!)

I made 3 more cards and each time I got inky fingers on my nice CAS cards!!

Sooooooooo...... I re-stamped the sentiment, roughly cut around the edges, used 3D pads to elevate the stamping et voila!

.................................... and breathe!

I'm calling it my happy accident because I am so glad now I messed up, the finished card was a success & I know the owner is really pleased with it....... Well, perhaps, until she next reads my blog! Sorry Joanne!!

    ~♥~

P.S. I will be back later sharing this wonderful technique later in the week!

Have a lovely Sunday, Gez oxox

Another page in my Dylusions journal!

Yesterday, I had great delight sharing a quick journal page I made for the latest Stampotique Designers Challenge.. 'triangles'

Some times at a loss what to do with my loose leaf pages.. I glued my latest one into my fabby Dylusions journal.. available HERE at A Sprinkle Of Imagination.. I am really pleased how my page turned out!

I added some acrylic paint around the edges and some washi tape to help blend my page.. I think it worked out quite well!

I put my latest page across from a really quite plain page.. I LOVE the contrast between them both.. just flicking through my journal is great fun.. I can't wait to fill it up!

Stampotique Designers Challenge #89 ~ Triangles

It's time for a brand NEW challenge over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog.

This week sees the turn of our lovely and very talented Nellie setting a new challenge! Here is what she had to say...

I often like to incorporate geometric shapes in my cards, be it squares, circles, rectangles etc. So this week I challenge you to use  such geometric shape  in your card or project. But not just  any shape you like. I has to be a TRIANGLE. Use just one or as many as you like.
Can’t wait to see what you come up with… So have fun stamping!

Oooooh. great challenge Nellie... this one got me thinking!!

It's been half term just lately at home and it's been fab having the boys around all day.. well, my youngest anyway!!

He loves singing and if my little one is like others.. it doesn't have to be Christmas in our house to sing Christmas songs.. sadly, my eldest son just doesn't appreciate our singing sooooooo.. here is my journal page..!

Don't you just love the jingle bells paper, just PERFECT! for my page!

 hehe..

I've used the gorgeous Moon Girl's Crow on my page.. and given him a 'triangle' party hat!

The background was created using spray inks and I added a little hand stitching.

I hope you can join our latest challenge.. it is open to any stamps until the end of the month.. with 2 x $30 gift certificates on offer for 2 random players.. Good Luck.

Thanks for calling, Gez
